According to industry sources on the 19th, Samsung has decided to conduct a "Value Education for Restoring Samsung Identity" for about 2,000 executives below the vice president level across all Samsung affiliates, including Samsung Electronics. The training will take place from the end of this month through April.
The seminar is organized by the Samsung Human Resources Development Institute and will be held at the Hoam Hall of the Human Resources Development Center located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Regardless of whether they are overseas, all executives are scheduled to attend various seminars from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The seminar is intended to reinforce the roles and determination of executives to overcome the internal and external crises facing the Samsung Group. Samsung Electronics has posted results below market expectations due to sluggishness in the legacy memory segment of its semiconductor business and delays in delivering high bandwidth memory (HBM). The TV and smartphone markets are also experiencing declining market shares.
This is the first time in nine years that Samsung is holding a seminar for executives across all its affiliates. Samsung held special seminars for executives annually from 2009 to 2016.
