Yogiyo Expands Robot Delivery Service to Yeoksam, Gangnam
Yogiyo announced on the 19th that it is expanding its robot delivery service to the Yeoksam area in Gangnam, Seoul, in collaboration with the autonomous driving robot company 'Newbility'.
Yogiyo has been operating robot delivery in the Yeoksam area of Gangnam since the 17th. This is the first case of commercializing robot delivery in downtown Seoul, following the commercialization in the Songdo area of Incheon.
Robot delivery is a service that delivers food using autonomous driving technology, allowing customers to pick up their food at a designated meeting place within a maximum radius of 1.2 km in the delivery area. During the first week after the opening in Songdo, Incheon, the average delivery time was in the 40-minute range, but it has been reduced to the 30-minute range due to improved operational proficiency, enabling faster delivery.
Yogiyo plans to gradually expand the delivery area through service stabilization and operational efficiency in the future.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the area expansion, Yogiyo is conducting a special promotion. For some restaurants in Yeoksam 1-dong, Gangnam, customers using the 'robot delivery' service can receive free delivery fees and earn 1,000 points per order. The accumulated points will be sequentially awarded within five business days starting from the 10th of the following month after the event ends.
Yogiyo's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Son Jin-hyung, said, "Since the Songdo, Incheon service, we have been able to provide a better delivery experience to customers and franchise stores through the stabilization of the robot delivery service," adding, "We plan to focus on improving the quality of robot delivery through close cooperation with Newbility."
