‘Uljin Daegae and Red Crab Festival’... Uljin Closer with Donghae Line Opening

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will hold the "2025 Uljin Snow Crab and Red Snow Crab Festival" for four days from February 28 to March 3 at Wangdolcho Square in Hupo-myeon.

With the opening of the Donghae Line on January 1, travelers will find their journey to Uljin faster and more comfortable than in previous years when using the railway. The festival site is about 3 km from Hupo Station on the Donghae Line, and it takes about 5 minutes by shuttle bus or taxi to reach the venue.

The "Uljin Snow Crab and Red Snow Crab Festival" has established itself as Uljin-gun's representative local festival, promoting seasonal snow crabs in Uljin, the hometown of snow crabs, and creating a harmonious space where local residents and tourists come together.

This year's festival will captivate the attention of locals and tourists alike with a variety of attractions, including congratulatory performances by local cultural artists, dance, busking, magic shows, as well as participatory food events such as snow crab fishing and auction programs.

Additionally, unique programs exclusive to the "2025 Uljin Snow Crab and Red Snow Crab Festival," such as the "Crab Sauce Bibimbap Performance," "Township Tug-of-War Competition," and "Uljin Snow Crab Flash Mob," will add vibrant color to the festival scene.

Moreover, the special "National Pumba Contest" held during the festival will elevate the festive atmosphere over two days, starting with preliminaries on the opening day and culminating in the finals on March 2, when the festival is in full swing, creating an event everyone can enjoy.

County Governor Son Byung-bok said, "Just as the railway has opened wide, our county is ready to welcome visitors," adding, "Programs and food packed as fully as seasonal snow crabs are waiting for you, so we hope many will come and enjoy together."
