Ulsan Office of Education Selected for Excellence in Student-Customized Integrated Support and Other Outstanding Projects

Announcement of 10 Outstanding Projects from Last Year's Major Business Evaluation
Performance Review Including "Educational Community Satisfaction and Policy Effectiveness"

Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) announced on the 19th that it selected 10 projects as outstanding through the 2024 major business evaluation, including "Nurturing technical talents who will lead future industries" and "Activating student-tailored integrated support."

The "Nurturing technical talents who will lead future industries" project by the Future Education Division received high praise for establishing and operating the nation's first vocational education complex center, creating a one-stop support system that links student technical education with employment.

In addition, it provided customized technical education responding to industrial changes through restructuring vocational high school departments, improving awareness of vocational education, and strengthening future competencies, thereby creating a sustainable educational environment.

The "Activating student-tailored integrated support" project unified tasks by establishing a dedicated department for student-tailored integrated support, strengthened interdepartmental connections and cooperation among professionals, and built a system for solving complex problems and providing customized support.

In particular, it received positive evaluations for expanding leading schools for student-tailored integrated support, forming policy consensus through training by target groups, and systematically spreading customized support for students at risk.

Other outstanding projects selected include the establishment of the high school credit system considering students' career paths and aptitudes, guaranteeing student-tailored basic academic skills, reducing and streamlining school tasks centered on educational activities, preventing and responding to school violence focusing on relationships, healing, and recovery, and the establishment of the (tentatively named) Ulsan Special Education Center to strengthen special education support.

This evaluation was conducted by an evaluation committee composed of 10 members, including principals, vice principals, administrative directors, and retired public officials, who comprehensively reviewed the achievement of goals, policy effectiveness, and satisfaction of the educational community regarding the major tasks of the headquarters, affiliated institutions, and education support offices. The evaluation results will be reflected in the performance evaluations of each department and institution heads.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We will continue to promote major business evaluations to improve the effectiveness and accountability of policies."
