An Jongshil, one of the representative pledge-takers, stated, “I understand that the county has established various support policies for seniors, created jobs, and provided more welfare benefits than other cities and counties. I will perform my duties safely and faithfully to contribute, even in a small way, to the development of the region.”
Park Insun, a senior who participated in the event, said, “I will prove that I am still healthy in both body and mind. I will also work hard to help ensure the success of the county’s half-price travel policy and Gangjin County’s unique four-season festivals.”
The second part of the event featured training sessions aimed at promoting the health and safety of seniors and creating a safe working environment.
Governor Kang Jinwon said, “The senior job program is not just about providing jobs, but also about supporting healthy social activities for seniors and improving their quality of life. We will continue to do our best to create an environment where seniors can work safely and enjoyably.”
Gangjin County is not only expanding its senior job program for senior welfare but is also promoting laundry support services for seniors by establishing laundromats in welfare centers in towns and villages. Jachon-myeon is already operating, and Seongjeon-myeon is scheduled to open soon. The program will be gradually expanded to other towns and villages as well.
