The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is improving the working conditions of labor-vulnerable workers by providing paid sick leave support.
Suwon City is accepting applications for the "2025 Suwon City Paid Sick Leave Support Project for Labor-Vulnerable Workers" until November 28.
The paid sick leave support project provides paid compensation of 90,320 KRW per day for a total of 13 days, including one day for the national health checkup and up to 12 days for hospital admission and discharge treatment.
Eligible applicants are labor providers in 18 occupations, such as insurance planners, who are registered residents of Suwon City.
Labor providers with a median income at or below 100% of the standard median income can apply. Support funds will be paid within one month after application. The project will close once the budget is exhausted.
Applications can be submitted via Saebit Toktok or the Suwon City website (www.suwon.go.kr).
A Suwon City official stated, "There are many labor providers working in vulnerable labor environments in our society," and added, "We will support labor-vulnerable workers so that they can focus on treatment without worrying about income loss due to health checkups or hospital treatments."
Meanwhile, the 18 eligible occupations include insurance planners, construction machinery operators, visiting instructors, golf course caddies, delivery drivers, quick service couriers, loan solicitors, credit card membership recruiters, designated drivers, door-to-door salespersons, rental product visiting inspectors, home appliance delivery and installation technicians, construction site freight truck owners, freight truck owners, software engineers, after-school instructors, tourist interpreters and guides, and children's school bus drivers.
