"Strengthening Leadership in the Convenience Store Jelly Market"
KatYes Partyfred and Fredperkel to Launch on the 26th
Convenience store 7-Eleven announced on the 19th that it will introduce the 'KatYes Vegan Jelly Series' from the German vegan jelly brand.
According to 7-Eleven, in 2016, the sales ratio of jelly to gum at 7-Eleven was reversed for the first time, currently reaching about 7 to 3. As the jelly market continues to grow, jelly sales increased by more than 15% last year.
7-Eleven explained that to strengthen its leading position in the convenience store jelly market, it will exclusively introduce the 'KatYes Rainbow' jelly, loved throughout Europe. KatYes Rainbow offers various shapes including a rainbow form and flavors such as cherry, strawberry, orange, and blueberry made with natural colorants. Although it is a vegan product, it delivers a similar level of elasticity and rich taste as regular jelly.
On the 26th, two types, 'KatYes Partyfred' and 'KatYes Fredperkel,' will be launched. The KatYes Vegan Jelly Series is certified vegan by 'V-Label,' an Italian vegan certification body. The vegan mark is granted after certification procedures including no use of animal-derived raw materials, prevention of cross-contamination, and prohibition of animal testing.
Kim Nayoung, MD in charge of the snack team at 7-Eleven, said, "Jelly products with fun and diverse concepts such as hangover relief jelly, sugar-free jelly, and vitamin jelly continue to appear," adding, "The KatYes jelly series introduced this time is a vegan jelly that does not use artificial colorants or palm oil, so it can be enjoyed as a casual everyday snack without burden."
KatYes Rainbow is sold at 2,500 KRW each, and KatYes Partyfred and KatYes Fredperkel are sold at 6,000 KRW each.
