Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center Participates in Open Innovation with Synergy IB Investment

The Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Young-geun, hereinafter referred to as Seoul Center) announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement with Synergy IB Investment (CEO Lee Geon-young, hereinafter Synergy IB Investment), a new technology finance company under the Specialized Credit Finance Business Act.

The contents of the business agreement include ▲ sharing human and material infrastructure to promote investment and business activation in the deep tech sector ▲ reviewing direct investment in companies participating in the deep tech open innovation program ▲ cooperating to recommend deep tech TIPS to companies participating in the deep tech open innovation program ▲ collaborating on planning new open innovation programs with large and medium-sized enterprises recommended by Synergy IB Investment. In particular, from 2024, enhanced functions of the Synergy IB Investment Venture Headquarters and collaboration with the Seoul Center in nurturing deep tech startups are highly anticipated.

Both organizations plan to share information on deep tech startups participating in open innovation that wish to scale up, and will focus on scaling up startups through direct investment, TIPS recommendations, and connections with Synergy IB Investment’s excellent capital markets and global networks.

Lee Geon-young, CEO of Synergy IB Investment, said, “We are pleased to contribute to the growth of outstanding deep tech startups in cooperation with the Seoul Center through this agreement. Based on the know-how accumulated as a TIPS operator since 2016, we will actively utilize internal experts (accountants, patent attorneys, lawyers) and financial networks. Through this, we plan to focus on supporting startups’ open innovation linkage and scale-up.”

Following this, Lee Young-geun, CEO of the Seoul Center, stated, “The Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center has selected ‘Population Tech’ as a key theme for 2025, expecting that startups in the deep tech sector can provide solutions to population issues. Synergy IB Investment, a new technology finance company and simultaneously a deep tech TIPS operator, will be a good partner in discovering deep tech startups.”
