Ulsan Tap Water Meets All Drinking Water Quality Standards

Waterworks Headquarters Announces Results of January Water Quality Inspection This Year

The Ulsan City Waterworks Headquarters announced that the tap water quality inspection conducted in January this year confirmed that the water meets the national drinking water quality standards and is at a safe level.


The inspection targeted purified water supplied from the Hoeya and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants, covering a total of 60 test items.


Detailed inspection results showed that △ four microbiological items, including general bacteria and total coliforms △ sixteen aesthetic impact substances such as hardness, odor, taste, color, and turbidity were all reported as 'not detected, compliant, or below standard levels.'


Additionally, △ seventeen organic substances harmful to health, including carbon tetrachloride, were 'not detected,' and △ twelve inorganic substances harmful to health, such as ammonia nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen, were all 'not detected or below standard levels.'


Along with these, △ eleven disinfectants and disinfection by-products, including residual chlorine, total trihalomethanes, and chloroform, were also measured as 'not detected or below standard levels.'


A representative from the Waterworks Headquarters stated, “We are doing our best to supply tap water that citizens can safely drink through regular monthly water quality inspections,” adding, “We will continue to improve trust in tap water through meticulous quality management and transparent disclosure of results.”
