The National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee announced on the 18th that it will hold a plenary session on the 26th to conduct a current affairs inquiry regarding the government's response strategy to the second Trump administration in the United States.
The Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee will receive a report from Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol and others on the results of the Korea-US-Japan foreign ministers' meeting recently held in Munich, Germany.
Both ruling and opposition parties plan to question measures related to tariffs triggered by the Trump administration, ways to strengthen Korea-US-Japan cooperation, and responses to the North Korean nuclear issue.
At the plenary session, a 'Resolution Supporting the Korea-US Alliance for Peace on the Korean Peninsula,' focusing on strengthening Korea-US cooperation in areas such as economic security, artificial intelligence (AI), and shipbuilding, will be submitted.
