Following its selection as an excellent festival last year, the Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival has once again been designated as a promising festival by Busan City this year, continuing its status as a leading local festival and receiving a subsidy of 10 million KRW from Busan City.

Busan City has been selecting and supporting outstanding district festivals designated by the city to strengthen the competitiveness of local festivals with high growth potential and to discover excellent festivals. This evaluation was conducted through on-site assessments, satisfaction surveys, big data analysis, and deliberations by the Festival Promotion Committee, targeting representative festivals held in the Busan area last year.

The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival effectively develops the themes of learning and culture, which are difficult to find in other regional festivals, in line with the characteristics of Jeonggwan, where many young residents focused on education live. Additionally, the festival received high marks for being led by a festival promotion committee composed of local residents cooperating with various community organizations within the region.

In particular, the introduction and enhancement of programs related to the "ecological stream," such as ▲forming the Jagwangcheon ecological experience group ▲sand art performances themed on environment and ecology ▲and a book concert focused on the sea and environment, received great acclaim.

Other positive aspects included ▲participation from universities, public institutions, and private educational organizations providing high-quality programs accompanied by budgets rather than just simple booth installations ▲no food sales booths within the event venue, instead utilizing nearby commercial areas ▲efforts to maintain a waste-free festival site ▲and smooth event operation through thorough safety management plans despite rainy weather, all of which contributed to its final selection as a promising festival.

Jeong Jong-bok, the county governor, said, "The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival has once again proven its excellent festival content and high-level event management capabilities by being selected as a promising festival by Busan City this year following last year. We will spare no effort to actively support its growth into a festival that attracts tourists nationwide beyond the local community."

The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival is an annual learning and cultural festival held around Jagwangcheon, a landmark of Jeonggwan, usually in October, marking its 11th edition this year. The festival is scheduled to take place over three days, including a pre-event, and offers various programs that allow people of all ages to learn and enjoy while promoting the value of the ecological stream, Jagwangcheon.
