Proposals for Policy Funding Guidance and Training for Foreign Workers
Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), visited industrial sites to listen to the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and proposed solutions.
On the 18th, SBC announced that Chairman Kang visited the Macheon General Industrial Complex in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, and communicated with company officials.
This visit was carried out to proactively identify policies needed by resident companies in the Macheon General Industrial Complex and to strengthen field-based customized support. About 20 people attended the site, including Chairman Kang, Kwon Young-jung, Chairman of the Macheon General Industrial Complex Management Corporation, representatives from Samkwang Industry, and Seo Byung-moon, CEO of BM Metal. They listened to the difficulties faced by companies and proposed solutions such as ▲guidance on support projects for 2025 including policy funds ▲institutional support such as training for foreign workers ▲measures to foster and revitalize the root industry.
In particular, Chairman Kang attracted attention by visiting the workplaces of BM Metal and Hanjeon Metal to conduct in-depth communication. These companies are manufacturers of pig iron castings and have been leading the root industry while residing in the Macheon General Industrial Complex.
Meanwhile, the Macheon General Industrial Complex, established in 1994, is one of Gyeongnam’s representative industrial complexes producing products supplied to metal processing industries such as casting and cast iron, as well as electronic components, electrical equipment, and defense industries. Recently, as the industrial complex infrastructure has aged, plans are being sought for efficient redevelopment and relocation of the industrial complex.
Chairman Kang emphasized, "We will do our best to implement practical policies reflecting the voices of SMEs on the ground and provide timely support," adding, "SBC will play a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainable development of the industrial complex, securing growth engines for resident companies, and further revitalizing the regional economy."
