30% Discount on Accommodation Payments...
Boosting the Tourism Industry
Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 18th that it will provide accommodation discounts for tourists in celebration of the Year of Visit to Imsil.
The 'Imsil Travel Accommodation Discount Support Project' was launched to attract stay-type tourists and revitalize the tourism industry. This project targets tourists whose registered address is outside Imsil County, offering partial discounts on accommodation expenses when staying at designated establishments within the county.
The discount benefit is 30% of the accommodation payment, with a maximum discount of 50,000 KRW. This program is only available for tourists residing outside the county who use designated accommodations.
To receive the discount, guests must reserve a room at a designated accommodation by phone or online and submit a pre-application form to the Imsil Year of Visit TF Team at the county office at least seven days before their stay. Upon visiting Imsil, guests must submit receipts for payments made at local restaurants, paid tourist attractions, or for local products, along with the accommodation payment receipt on the day of check-in, to the accommodation provider.
Currently, 11 establishments are participating, with plans to gradually expand the list. The program will continue until the allocated budget is exhausted. A list of participating establishments can be found on the county office's Facebook and Instagram pages. Detailed information about the support program, procedures, and the list of designated accommodations is available on the Imsil County website under 'Communication & Participation - Notices & Announcements.'
The county is currently conducting various promotional marketing activities to commemorate the Year of Visit to Imsil. During four major festivals at the Okjeongho Bungeoseom Ecological Park, admission fees will be discounted as part of a special event. There will also be special tour programs for students from five universities in the province, nighttime tours utilizing the area's attractive nightscape, and special events such as broadcast writer familiarization tours.
The county has also signed a business agreement with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Culture and Tourism Foundation for joint tourism marketing, actively working to create travel demand and marketing cooperation by linking tourism businesses with the county's tourism infrastructure. Plans are in place to create tourism synergy by promoting gourmet tours, tours utilizing mega-influencers, and Imsil experience tourism products.
Additionally, nationwide promotion is underway through 'Chamisul,' a popular soju brand beloved by the public. A special edition of HiteJinro Chamisul featuring a '2025 Year of Visit to Imsil' label, along with images of Okjeongho Bungeoseom Ecological Park, has been released and is currently being distributed.
County Governor Sim Min said, "We aim to support stay-type tourists so they can better enjoy Imsil's beautiful tourist attractions," adding, "We hope to see an influx of outside tourists and revitalization of the local economy."
