Signing of Agreement with National Police Agency to Support Families of Fallen and Injured Police Officers
Starbucks Korea announced on the 18th that it will operate the 'Starbucks Hero Program' to support the heroes of the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the National Police Agency.
On the same day, Starbucks held a business agreement ceremony at the National Police Agency with the National Police Agency and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare to improve police welfare and support the families of fallen and injured police officers, signing an agreement to provide new welfare benefits for police officers.
Starbucks Korea, the National Police Agency, and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare signed a business agreement on the 18th for the 'Hero Program' to support scholarships for children of police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty. Through this agreement, Starbucks will operate a scholarship support program for the children of fallen and injured police officers, planning to provide a total of 300 million KRW in scholarships over the next three years. Each child of a fallen police officer will receive 2 million KRW, and each child of an injured police officer will receive 1 million KRW, with a total of 60 recipients selected annually for support. Additionally, Starbucks plans to provide approximately 7,100 cups of coffee and food to outstanding police officers nationwide to boost the morale of those dedicated to public safety on the front lines.
Shin Dong-woo, Head of Strategic Planning at Starbucks Korea, stated, "We are honored to be able to give back, even if just a little, to the police officers who work hard for the safety of the people," and added, "We will continue to support those who dedicate themselves to the country through the Starbucks Hero Program."
