Professor Song Juhyun, who teaches at Chonnam National University College of Medicine and is also active as a Western-style painter, has donated two oil paintings that she painted herself to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital.

On the 17th, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital held an unveiling ceremony for the donated artworks in the surgery patient guardian waiting room on the third floor. The event was attended by hospital officials including Director Min Jungjun, Deputy Director Kang Hocheol, Administrative Director Sung Myungseok, Planning Director Bae Hongbeom, as well as Professor Song Juhyun.

The titles of the works donated by Professor Song are "Canola Landscape 1" and "Canola Landscape 2," both completed in 2022. Using brushes and knives, she captured the beautiful canola flower fields of Jeju Island with a fairy tale-like sensibility in these oil paintings, aiming to convey peace and comfort through the lyrical scenery of the yellow canola fields.

Professor Song, affiliated with the Department of Anatomy at Chonnam National University College of Medicine, is a member of the Korean Fine Arts Association and the National Veterans Culture and Arts Association as a Western-style painter under the artist name "Rihyeon." Since January, she has been recognized as an invited artist, and to date, she has held seven solo exhibitions and participated in six group exhibitions, continuing her active career.

Professor Song stated, "I donated these works with the hope that they would provide even a small amount of emotional stability and healing to patients, their guardians, and the staff working at the hospital."

Director Min Jungjun said, "I hope the donated paintings deliver warmth and comfort to patients and their guardians, and convey a message of hope. I would also like to express my gratitude and support for Professor Song's future endeavors."
