The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) will support stable educational activities for new and early-career teachers through customized training and counseling this year.

A counseling support system will be established with groups consisting of senior teachers with more than five years of experience to enhance new teachers' professionalism and field adaptability in areas such as lesson guidance, class management, and student discipline.

This year, the number of counseling sessions for new teachers will be expanded from 11 sessions last year to 15 sessions, and a results sharing meeting will be held in November for all participants.

In a survey of last year’s participants, the satisfaction rate was very high at 94%. New teachers responded that it was very helpful for practical lesson improvement and student guidance.

Additionally, from the 12th to the 21st, job training will be conducted for 186 newly appointed (or prospective) teachers covering teaching competency, understanding students, and professional duties.

The Ulsan Office of Education supports customized program training using the "Educational Activity Protection Center" for early-career teachers within two years of their initial appointment.

Last year, the Educational Activity Protection Center was expanded and relocated to the first floor of Ulsan Biz Park in Boksan-dong, Jung-gu, Ulsan, providing various services such as counseling, legal support, and healing programs.

Using customized training, legal experts provide information on laws and counseling related to the protection of educational activities. Solutions are shared through group discussions among peers using real cases, and a resilience enhancement experience program is also prepared to help psychological stability.

In the first half of this year, a lesson-sharing lecture on lessons and restorative life education for early-career teachers will be conducted under the leadership of the elementary school head teachers’ association.

When assigning new teachers as of March 1, the Ulsan Office of Education considered teachers’ preferred regions and living bases to prevent concentration in specific areas and schools.

An official from the Ulsan Office of Education said, “We will continue to support early-career teachers to settle stably in school settings.”
