Seo-gu is using these donations as a catalyst to fill welfare gaps for multicultural families, young family caregivers, people with disabilities, and others who are difficult to support through public assistance, aiming for 'zero welfare blind spots.'

Last month, Seogu Honors launched its first support project by selecting 15 multicultural families (52 people) for the 'Visit to Mother's Homeland and Maternal Grandparents' House' project.

They provided a total of 26 million KRW, giving 500,000 KRW per person, so that marriage immigrants could visit their home countries such as Vietnam, China, the Philippines, and Russia with their families. In celebration of the Lunar New Year, they also gave 2 million KRW worth of Onnuri gift certificates to 100 multicultural families.

This month, they plan to deliver Hope Scholarships to 110 young people preparing for independence and young family caregivers, and will continue to carry out monthly customized welfare projects for families caring for patients with rare diseases, visually impaired individuals, and low-income veterans.

The positive influence of Seogu Honors is becoming a driving force that inspires other potential donors.

Seo-gu has installed a digital Hall of Fame on the first floor of the district office to display real-time updates on Seogu Honors' donation status and sharing messages, and is promoting a culture of everyday giving through a kiosk that enables instant donations.

At a meeting held on the 17th to mark the 100th day since the launch of Seogu Honors, Park Cheolhong, president of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea and the first member of Seogu Honors, said, "It is a great joy and happiness in itself to be able to volunteer together with Seogu Honors for a society where we coexist. I hope that our small sincerity will become a precious dream and hope for someone."

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Seogu Honors is writing a new chapter in the history of Seo-gu, the city of kindness. The intentions, sincerity, and steps of those who wish to live together are creating waves of great inspiration and happiness. Together with these kind heroes, we will do our best to achieve zero welfare blind spots and make Seo-gu a place of happiness for all 12 months."
