Recommendations for Historical Sites, Cultural Spaces, and Restaurants Accepted
Resident Proposals Open Until the 15th of Next Month
"Hidden treasures of Gangseo-gu, please discover them yourselves!"
Seoul Gangseo-gu (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is launching a project to find hidden local tourist resources together with residents. The goal is to discover promising, lesser-known tourist resources within the area and develop them into unique and attractive new tourist destinations exclusive to Gangseo-gu.
To this end, the district is accepting resident proposals for the hidden tourist resource discovery project "Gangseo-gu, This Is It" until the 15th of next month. Eligible proposals include ▲local industries and specialties ▲historical sites or relics ▲cultural spaces ▲figures ▲old shops or alleys ▲restaurants, or anything that reflects the local character and can be developed into tourism products.
Participation is possible by scanning the QR code provided on the district website or promotional materials. Tourist resources collected through resident proposals will be utilized in developing various tourism content for the district.
The district divides the area into four zones to ensure that tourist resources are not concentrated in certain parts, aiming to create a balanced tourism infrastructure. Additionally, by selecting major tourism themes, the district plans to actively respond to diverse tourism demands. Tourist resources from traditional markets and the old downtown will be linked with the new downtown to serve as a new driving force for regional development.
District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, "A tourist spot discovered directly by residents is a truly meaningful local attraction," and added, "We will develop the tourist resources discovered together with residents into various contents to widely promote the charm of Gangseo-gu to the world."
