Kia EV9 High-Performance 'GT' and 60 Million Won Range 'Standard' Released

Kia announced on the 18th that it has begun accepting orders for the high-performance version of its flagship electrified SUV, the 'The Kia EV9 GT,' as well as the practical and economical 'Standard' model.

The EV9 GT features a powerful all-wheel-drive system with high-performance specialized specifications and is equipped with a wide range of advanced safety and convenience features. It is equipped with front and rear motors delivering a combined maximum output of 374kW (509 horsepower) and maximum torque of 740Nm (75.5 kgf·m), enabling it to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

Additionally, it comes with a 99.8kWh 4th-generation high-voltage battery, providing a driving range of 408 km on a single charge (combined standard).

Kia applied the preview electronic controlled suspension, which optimizes the suspension by recognizing road surface information and driving conditions, to the EV9 GT for the first time among Kia SUVs, delivering a stable and luxurious driving experience. The electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) is standard, actively controlling the driving force of the left and right wheels to ensure stable vehicle behavior even in dynamic driving situations.

The EV9 GT secures powerful braking performance that matches its overwhelming acceleration through high-performance friction material applied to 4-piston monoblock calipers (front), large-capacity brake discs, and regenerative braking with a maximum deceleration force of 0.6G.

The model’s appeal is enhanced with various convenience features and a dedicated infotainment system. It comes standard with second-row premium relaxation seats including dynamic body care, providing comfortable seating for second-row passengers even on long trips, and also features a third-row power reclining & folding function to improve convenience when rearranging seats.

Kia introduced the first USB Type-C charging port capable of 100W fast charging (with a dedicated cable provided), and equipped advanced convenience features as standard, such as i-PEDAL 3.0, which allows acceleration, deceleration, and stopping using only the accelerator pedal at all regenerative braking levels.

To cater to customers seeking a city-oriented family electric vehicle, Kia added the Standard model. The Standard model is equipped with a 76.1kWh battery, enabling a driving range of 374 km on a single charge, allowing for comfortable urban driving. It applies the same various safety and convenience features as the Long Range model, enabling customers to experience the EV9’s value at a reasonable price.

In particular, Kia also adjusted the price of the existing EV9 Long Range model to further enhance product competitiveness. After eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits, the EV9 prices are as follows: Standard ▲Air 64.12 million KRW ▲Earth 68.91 million KRW; Long Range (2WD) ▲Air 68.57 million KRW ▲Earth 73.36 million KRW; Long Range (4WD) ▲Air 72.05 million KRW ▲Earth 76.89 million KRW. The GT Line is priced at 79.17 million KRW, and the GT at 88.49 million KRW.

Considering government and local government electric vehicle purchase subsidies, it is expected that the EV9 Standard Air trim can be purchased for around 61 million KRW in Seoul.

A Kia official stated, "The EV9 GT, which simultaneously realizes high performance and premium value, is the crystallization of Kia’s electrification philosophy," adding, "By introducing the Standard model alongside the GT model and adjusting the price of the Long Range model, more customers will be able to experience the advanced technology and premium value of the EV9."
