Preliminary investigation results suggest that the fire at Seoul Muhak Girls' High School on the 15th originated from heating wires installed to prevent freezing of water and sewage pipes.
According to the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul on the 17th, the police, fire authorities, and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation conducted a joint investigation from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., comprehensively examining the ignition point and the cause of the fire.

A police official stated, "It is preliminarily estimated that the fire was caused by electrical factors in the heating wires installed to prevent freezing of the water and sewage pipes," adding, "No criminal suspicion has been confirmed so far."
The relevant authorities plan to determine the final cause of the fire after thoroughly reviewing the investigation results and conducting interviews with related parties.
