Promoting Regional Economic Revitalization
by Fostering Middle-Aged Workforce and Drone Professionals
Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, has been selected for the ‘2025 City and County Specialized Customized Job Support Project’ organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do. Accordingly, the county will actively promote the middle-aged employment support project and the drone utilization professional training project.
Through this project, the county plans to expand job support for the middle-aged group and foster drone utilization professionals in line with the 4th Industrial Revolution to create new industry jobs in the region.
The middle-aged employment support project provides up to 600,000 KRW per person (400,000 KRW for small business owners) for 10 months when local small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners newly hire middle-aged workers, with support available for up to three people per workplace.
The drone utilization professional training project aims to help participants obtain Class 1 pilot and instructor pilot licenses through drone operation and theory education.
It plans to link employment and entrepreneurship in various fields such as disaster prevention and agriculture to lead to practical job creation.
Kim Jusu, the mayor of Uiseong-gun, stated, “We will expand the economic activity participation of the middle-aged group and foster professionals needed in new growth industries such as the drone industry to contribute to revitalizing the local economy. We will also actively support sustainable job creation in the future.”
Meanwhile, Uiseong-gun plans to continuously expand the customized job support project to provide practical employment opportunities for various groups and continue efforts for regional economic development.
