Guri City Family Center Holds Special Child Abuse Prevention Education
for Childcare Workers
The Guri City Family Center (Director Yoon Sung-eun) announced on the 17th that it conducted a ‘Special Education on Child Abuse Prevention’ for childcare workers at the Women’s Happiness Center auditorium on the 5th floor on the 15th.

This ‘Special Education on Child Abuse Prevention’ was designed to prevent the recurrence of cases similar to recent child abuse incidents in other regions. It consisted of education for mandatory reporters of child abuse, sharing of child abuse cases, and discussions, aiming to establish the role of childcare workers and strengthen their caregiving capabilities.
The Childcare Support Project provides caregiving services by dispatching childcare workers to families with children under 12 years old who experience a parenting gap. The Guri City Family Center regularly operates meetings and emotional healing programs to enhance the professionalism of childcare services and to prevent physical and psychological weakening that childcare workers may feel while performing their duties. In particular, last year, these programs were conducted 10 times from February to November.
The Guri City Family Center stated, “We will thoroughly manage and supervise childcare workers through special education on child abuse prevention and strengthened case management for high-risk groups to ensure that no child abuse incidents involving childcare workers occur.”
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City urged leading efforts to prevent and eradicate child abuse, saying, “Child abuse prevention education is an essential process for child protection, and it is important to foster a culture that respects children’s rights.” He added, “Please join us in making Guri City a child-friendly city where children can grow up healthy and safe.”
