Jangheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 17th that a winter blood donation drive was conducted on the 14th to secure a stable supply of blood donors and protect the lives and health of residents.
The winter season is a period when blood reserves drop sharply, and it has been reported that medical institutions are recently facing difficulties in securing blood supplies. In response, the county launched a campaign to promote blood donation to help ensure a stable blood supply. On the day of the drive, public officials, members of social organizations, and residents actively participated.
Jangheung County maintained a continuous partnership with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross to ensure smooth operations, and fostered a positive atmosphere for blood donation by utilizing various media channels such as social media.
An official from the public health center stated, "Blood donation is the warmest gift that can save a life," and added, "We will actively participate so that we can put our love for our neighbors into practice."
