Seo Young-kyo Criticizes Prosecution for Being Submissive Only to Yoon Suk-yeol and Kim Kun-hee
The Democratic Party of Korea criticized the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, which investigated the Myeong Taegyun gate, for transferring the case to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on the 17th, saying, "We cannot avoid suspicion that this is a measure to delay or downsize the investigation."

Seo Young-kyo, the head of the Democratic Party's Myeong Taegyun Gate Truth Investigation Team, held a meeting of the investigation team in the Democratic Party floor leader's conference room at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the same day, saying, "Why does the prosecution of the Republic of Korea become small and kneel only in front of Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Kun-hee?" and "I cannot help but lament what they have been doing for a long time."
Seo said, "Where has the voice of President Yoon, which caused a stir in the world, gone? He said, 'I told them to give Kim Young-seon a nomination because he worked hard, but the party has a lot to say about it,'" and "Looking at the written announcement of the interim investigation results by the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office related to the Myeong Taegyun gate, no matter how hard you look, the names that attracted the most attention?Yoon Seok-yeol, Kim Kun-hee, Yoon Sang-hyun, Hong Joon-pyo, Oh Se-hoon?are not there. There is also no mention of indictment regarding the suspicion of interference in the nomination."
Rep. Lee Yeon-hee said, "It is truly disappointing and deplorable that the prosecution is transferring the investigation from the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office to the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office to continue the investigation," adding, "We will watch and judge the reason why it has been dragging on for months when it could have been investigated in just one day."
Rep. Lee explained, "Regarding the method of public opinion survey planning and manipulation by the accused Myeong Taegyun, this method was used in the Seoul mayoral election, where non-ballot public opinion surveys were used to design questions favorable to a specific candidate and place questions that induce respondents' political tendencies, thereby gathering support for symbolic candidates of conservative parties."
She continued, "This is an issue that would clearly be revealed even if the prosecution investigates for just one day," and urged, "If the prosecution has the will to investigate Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Hong Joon-pyo, they should promptly conduct search and seizure before evidence is destroyed and impose travel bans to show their investigative will."
Earlier, the prosecution explained that it decided to transfer the case considering that most of the people involved in the Myeong Taegyun case reside in Seoul and that the area where the incident occurred is mainly Seoul.
The Democratic Party, which is pushing for the introduction of a special prosecutor, commented, "The prosecution cited 'most related persons residing in Seoul' as the reason for transferring the case, but this is an excuse," and criticized, "The transfer in a situation where the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office originally took charge of the investigation and had made considerable progress cannot avoid suspicion that it is a measure to delay or downsize the investigation."
The Democratic Party plans to handle the 'Myeong Taegyun Special Prosecutor Act,' proposed by six opposition parties on the 11th, at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 27th.
