Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it will introduce mobile healthcare technology to provide personalized health management services to local residents.
The 'mobile healthcare' program aims to help residents develop healthy lifestyle habits on their own, reduce health risk factors, and lower the risk of developing chronic diseases.
The Hampyeong County Public Health Center will provide participants with a free activity tracker device that can be linked to a smartphone app (Chaeum Health), offering non-face-to-face management services to monitor residents' daily activity levels and eating habits.
Additionally, to encourage participation, outstanding participants will be selected based on their activity levels and improvements in health behaviors, and incentives will be provided.
Participants are eligible to receive three health checkups (initial, at 3 months, and at 6 months) and one-on-one personalized counseling services from doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists over a 24-week period.
Eligible participants include Hampyeong County residents aged 19 to 64 or employees working at companies located in Hampyeong County who have at least one health risk factor (blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, abdominal obesity, triglycerides, or total cholesterol). Applications can be submitted to the Hampyeong County Public Health Center.
However, individuals who have already been diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes, or dyslipidemia, or who are currently taking related medications, are excluded.
Lee Sangik, the mayor of Hampyeong County, stated, "The mobile healthcare project will help improve residents' lifestyle habits and prevent chronic diseases," adding, "We will continue to do our best to protect the health of our residents through various public health initiatives."
