Jeollanam-do has officially launched the "2025 Visiting Jeonnam Happiness Bus," starting with the Dongam Senior Center in Boseong.
The Jeonnam Happiness Bus will visit 270 villages four times a week, providing 26 customized programs to over 7,000 residents.
This year, new essential services for seniors have been added, including ▲walking aid cleaning and repair ▲eye health check-ups ▲mobile financial consultations.
At the event held in Dongam Village, Boseong, health services such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks, dementia screening, and Korean medicine treatments were provided, along with customized welfare services like kiosk education, hairdressing, and nail art.
In addition, seniors who have limited access to cultural activities responded enthusiastically to performances of pansori and movie screenings.
A resident who received walking aid repair and cleaning on-site said, "I had been struggling with an old walking aid, but thanks to the Jeonnam Happiness Bus, I was able to get it repaired and now I can move around comfortably," expressing gratitude.
Myung Changhwan, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of Jeollanam-do, stated, "This year as well, we will visit 270 villages to provide health, welfare, and cultural services, and we will not stop until happiness is delivered to every village."
The Visiting Jeonnam Happiness Bus began operation in August 2021 and has since visited 663 villages, met more than 20,000 residents, and provided a total of 167,000 customized services. User satisfaction has reached 99%.
