Daughter Reports Crime After Witnessing Incident Through Home Camera
A village chief in his 70s was arrested by the police for committing a sexual crime against a woman in her 90s in Gumi, Gyeongbuk.
On the 17th, the Gumi Police Station announced that they had detained a man in his 70s, Mr. A, on charges of quasi-rape.
Mr. A is accused of entering the home of Ms. B, a woman in her 90s living in the same village, at around 2:30 p.m. on the 14th and sexually assaulting her inside a room. Mr. A is the village chief of the village where Ms. B resides.
At the time, Mr. A allegedly committed quasi-rape after Ms. B resisted the sexual assault and then fled, but he was urgently arrested by the police who responded to a report from the family at around 5:16 p.m. that day.
It was reported that Ms. B’s daughter witnessed Mr. A’s crime through a home camera and reported it to the police.
Mr. A is known to have confessed to the crime during the police investigation.
Ms. B is receiving hospital treatment due to psychological shock.
