Every year, the foundation selects scholarship recipients from medical and pharmacy schools and provides full scholarships until graduation. It also supports scholarships for North Korean defectors majoring in health and medical fields, selected through recommendations from the South-North Health and Medical Education Foundation. Additionally, to promote the advancement of medical sciences, the foundation selects outstanding research projects and achievements to provide research funding to medical science professors and researchers.

At the award ceremony, a total of 80 million KRW in scholarships was awarded to 4 medical students and 4 pharmacy students. Five scholarship recipients recommended by the South-North Health and Medical Education Foundation received 10 million KRW.

In the medical field, Professor Park Seong-ho of Hanyang University College of Medicine received a research grant of 30 million KRW for his project titled "Development and Validation of an MRI-based Artificial Intelligence Model for Diagnosing Recurrent Cerebral Infarction." In the pharmacy field, Professor Jeon Ha-rim of Jeonbuk National University College of Pharmacy received 30 million KRW for the research project "Exploring Drug Repositioning Potential through Analysis of the Preventive Effects of GLP-1RA on Mood Disorders Using Real-world Data."

Kim Young-jin, Chairman of the Handok Jesuk Foundation, said, "I hope the scholarships serve as a meaningful foundation for the future leaders of the medical and pharmaceutical fields to achieve their dreams," adding, "We will continue scholarship and research support programs to help outstanding talents realize greater potential and contribute to the advancement of basic medical sciences."

The Handok Jesuk Foundation is a public interest corporation established by the late Kim Shin-kwon, founder of Handok, and Handok itself. It inherited the legacy of the Handok Scholarship Association, established in 1961, which provided scholarships to medical and pharmacy students for over a decade. Since 2008, it has supported scholars and researchers to contribute to the development of the medical science field. The foundation also operates the Handok Medical Museum, Korea’s first specialized medical museum, through which it conducts cultural and educational activities, disease eradication support projects, and assistance programs for marginalized groups.
