24/7 Year-Round Monitoring at the Integrated Control Center
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 17th that it has introduced a facility safety monitoring system based on smart technology at 13 community service centers within the district, the first of its kind nationwide, to enhance the safety and convenience of residents and ensure the safe management of aging facilities.
The newly introduced safety monitoring system installs safety sensors and closed-circuit (CC)TV cameras on key facilities of the community service centers to detect abnormalities such as fires, leaks, and power outages in real time. This information is monitored 24/7 at an integrated control center, enabling prompt response in case of any abnormal situations.
Previously, facility managers conducted patrol inspections in person, but it was difficult to respond quickly to facility malfunctions during nighttime or holidays when managers were absent. Additionally, incidents such as leaks or pipe bursts caused by abnormal weather conditions sometimes occurred.
However, with the introduction of this smart safety monitoring system, signs of facility risks can be identified in real time, and any issues are immediately reported to the building facility managers for swift action. In particular, if a fire occurs, the CCTV cameras detect it and notify the control center to take initial measures.
The district began installing safety sensors at community service centers last month and plans to fully operate the safety monitoring system starting mid-this month. Through this system, the district plans to strengthen safety inspections and maintenance of community service center facilities.
District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “We will continue to make efforts to enhance the safety of community service centers and enable residents to use the facilities more conveniently and safely.”
