Seeking Innovative Policies to Enhance City Administration Vitality
Focusing on Livelihood Stability and Economic Revitalization
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam is set to inject new vitality into the local economy and add dynamism and vibrancy to key areas of city administration by discovering and implementing various new specialized policies.
On February 14 and 17, Yangsan City held a report meeting on the discovery of new and specialized policies, chaired by Mayor Na Dong-yeon, with the participation of heads of departments and offices.
This report meeting focused on overcoming the difficulties faced by the local livelihood economy due to the current domestic situation and the downturn in the domestic economy, aiming to achieve visible results in the second half of the 8th term of the elected government through the discovery of new specialized policies. A total of 33 policies were thoroughly discussed in terms of feasibility and effectiveness.
The main discovered policies include △ Livelihood Economy Leap ON Project △ Creation of the tourism character 'Yangsan Friends' theme zone △ Remodeling of the Yangsan Tower promotional hall △ Establishment of an odor forecast service using digital twin technology △ Relaxation of district unit planning to revitalize the Mulgeum New Town, presenting new policy directions in various fields such as local economic revitalization and improvement of residential conditions.
To overcome economic difficulties caused by the recession, the city plans to promote the Livelihood Economy Leap ON Project, aiming to overcome the economic crisis through social dialogue and cooperation among labor, management, civic groups, and government, and to increase sales by attracting foot traffic through events promoting consumption in local alley markets.
The city will also build a real-time odor forecast service system using digital twin technology. By utilizing 3D terrain information and weather forecast data, it will predict odor occurrence and flow in real time, providing citizens with prompt odor information to create a pleasant urban environment.
Additionally, the Yangsan Tower promotional hall will be remodeled into a media art experience center to offer citizens various visual attractions and hands-on opportunities. Furthermore, to revitalize Mulgeum New Town, the city plans to relax district unit planning to allow high-density and complex development, enhancing urban competitiveness and promoting regional development through improved development potential and conditions of urban space.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, “Since various new policies were discussed at this report meeting, we will carefully review their feasibility and funding plans to ensure they do not remain mere plans but produce visible results within the year by preparing and implementing systematic execution plans.”
