'Kia EV Day' to Be Held in Spain Later This Month
Interior Design of the EV4 and Kia's Electrification Strategy to Be Unveiled
Kia unveiled the exterior design of its brand's first electrified sedan, the 'The Kia EV4,' on the 17th.
The EV4 is Kia's fourth dedicated electric vehicle model introduced to the domestic market, following the EV6, Kia's first dedicated electric vehicle launched in 2021, as well as the EV9 and EV3. It is Kia's first electrified sedan aimed at leading the popularization of electric vehicles and expanding the lineup.
The EV4 presents a new type of electric vehicle through an innovative silhouette in the electric vehicle market, which is centered around sport utility vehicles (SUVs).
The front of the EV4 features a bold impression with the 'Tiger Face,' which harmonizes vertical-shaped headlamps emphasizing a wide feel and the Star Map signature lighting. The bumper's lower design, applied with a geometric pattern, highlights a sleek and dynamic look.
The side profile combines a smoothly flowing silhouette from the low-hanging hood front to the trunk end with black cladding wrapping the wheel arches.
Additionally, the uniquely shaped 19-inch wheels, utilizing visual contrast, effectively embody Kia's design philosophy of 'Opposites United,' creating a futuristic atmosphere.
The rear features a roof spoiler placed at both ends of the body, which is unprecedented in conventional sedans, accentuating the EV4's innovative silhouette.
The EV4 GT line applies exclusive design elements emphasizing dynamism based on the innovative design of the base model.
The wing-shaped front and rear bumpers applied to the EV4 GT line give a solid yet sleek impression. The exclusive 19-inch wheels are designed centered on triangular shapes, emphasizing a futuristic and sporty feel.
Karim Habib, Vice President of Global Design at Kia, said, "The EV4, which reinterprets the sedan, reflects Kia's efforts to redefine mobility through design. The EV4 will provide a sophisticated yet practical user experience tailored to customers' diverse lifestyles."
Kia plans to reveal the interior design and detailed specifications of the EV4, along with its expanded electrification strategy, at the '2025 Kia EV Day' held in Tarragona, Spain, at the end of this month.
