Gyeonggi Province will conduct a joint safety inspection with project implementers and experts targeting 32 residential land and public housing districts in the province from the 17th of this month to the 17th of next month to prevent safety accidents during the thawing season.
The inspection targets include a total of 32 sites, such as six residential land development districts including Hwaseong Taean 3 District where development construction is underway, and 26 public housing districts including Suwon Dangsujigu.
The main inspection items are ▲ occurrence of ground subsidence and cracks at construction sites and surrounding areas ▲ slope instability such as collapse in cut and fill sections ▲ installation of safety facilities to prevent falls and dropping accidents ▲ occurrence of road and sidewalk block subsidence and cracks, and potholes ▲ confirmation of inconveniences and complaints from nearby residents due to construction work.
Any issues that can be corrected on-site based on the inspection results will be immediately addressed, and if serious defects or risk factors are found, prompt repair and reinforcement will be carried out.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "During the thawing season, the ground surface that was frozen throughout the winter melts and the ground weakens, increasing the risk factors leading to accidents," and added, "We will thoroughly prepare to prevent safety accidents."
