Operation of the Private Platform 'WeGive'
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju is operating the private platform service 'WeGive' to increase participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program.
According to Gwangsan-gu on the 17th, a business agreement was recently signed with the social enterprise Gonggammanse Co., Ltd., which operates WeGive.
WeGive is a service that allows users to select both donations and return gifts simultaneously, making citizen participation convenient. In addition, it offers various benefits for participating in donations through partnership marketing with lifestyle service companies.
The district has launched designated donation fundraising projects such as the Cultural Adaptation Project for Youths with Migration Backgrounds and the "Let's Have a 1,000-Won Meal Together" program. Building on this, it plans to introduce private platform services and promote the activation of the Hometown Love Donation Program through various promotional strategies.
In order to ensure that the Hometown Love Donation Program leads to the recovery of the local economy, cooperation and communication with local small business owners who provide return gifts will also be strengthened.
Park Byungkyu, head of the district office, said, "We expect that participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program, which supports the sustainable development and change of Gwangsan-gu through designated donations and the use of private platforms, will become more active."
