Kim Je-hong, Director of the Gyeongnam Talent Development Institute, assumed office as the 27th Vice Mayor of Sacheon City on the 17th.
New Vice Mayor Kim expressed his appointment sentiment, saying, “I consider it an immense honor to work in Sacheon City, which has risen as the aerospace capital of Korea with the establishment of the Korean-style NASA and the Aerospace Administration.”

He continued, “To revive the local economy, which has been stagnant due to difficult economic conditions such as high inflation and ultra-tight fiscal policies, I will gather all wisdom and capabilities to create a workplace that is enjoyable and motivating, and to foster an organizational culture full of dreams and hope.”
In particular, Vice Mayor Kim emphasized, “I will do my best in my role as vice mayor to serve as even a small foundation for the construction of the aerospace complex city, which is Sacheon City’s biggest pending project.”
On the same day, Vice Mayor Kim paid respects at the Sacheon National Cemetery’s Memorial Tower in the morning, received his appointment certificate from Mayor Park Dong-sik of Sacheon, and began his official duties.
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Kim is originally from Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, graduated from the Department of Economics at Pusan National University, and earned a master’s degree in Urban Administration from Rutgers University in the United States.
He has also held key positions including General Affairs Officer at the Gyeongnam Provincial Council Secretariat, Deputy County Governor of Hadong County, Director of the Forest Environment Research Institute, Director of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Auditor, Vice Mayor of Tongyeong City, Director of the Maritime and Fisheries Bureau, and Head of the Development Headquarters at the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority.
