Application of Rapid Integrated Planning Advisory Method
for Maintenance Plan Change Review
Seoul City will improve procedures to actively utilize integrated review when changing maintenance plans in order to expedite urban maintenance-type redevelopment projects. It is expected that applying the rapid integrated planning advisory method when reviewing maintenance plan changes will reduce the time by 4 months.
On the 17th, Seoul City announced that it plans to actively support project implementers who apply for maintenance plan changes through integrated review to promote rapid progress of maintenance projects and restore urban functions.
Since the introduction of the integrated review system, there have been no cases of urban maintenance-type redevelopment projects involving maintenance plan changes being conducted through integrated review among the 11 projects pursued.
Since maintenance plan changes need to be reviewed together with various detailed plans such as architecture and transportation, it will be possible to proceed according to the choice of the project implementer.
Even if maintenance plan changes are not conducted through integrated review, the rapid integrated planning advisory method will be applied to enable swift project progress. Maintenance plan changes will be possible through the authorized subcommittee review within the Urban Planning Committee.
If maintenance plan changes are conducted through integrated review, the period can be reduced by about 4 months compared to separately undergoing the existing Urban Planning Committee review. Projects pursued through individual reviews are also expected to be processed faster by applying the rapid integrated planning procedure.
In the case of 11 maintenance projects recently conducted through individual reviews, it took an average of 4 months from the drafting of the maintenance plan to the final announcement for maintenance plan changes.
Jo Nam-jun, head of the Urban Space Headquarters of Seoul City, said, "We plan to actively promote plan changes of urban maintenance-type redevelopment projects through integrated review in the future," adding, "Through this, we will increase the speed of project promotion to revitalize maintenance projects and efficiently maintain urban spaces to create new vitality."
