The snow that had piled up due to the continuous cold is melting away, and the biting wind is gradually subsiding.
Under the warm sunlight, fresh green sprouts are slowly emerging, and the refreshing scent of the mountains fills the air as the news of spring arrives at the Jukpari Birch Forest in Yeongyang-gun.
As the temperature rises warmly with the changing season, let's head to the Yeongyang-gun Birch Forest.
▲Pure white nature, Yeongyang-gun Birch Forest
Today's travel trend is shifting towards trips for personal healing. Accordingly, tourists have been drawn to this birch forest, where they can breathe fresh air and feel the cool seasonal breeze in pristine nature, leaving behind the stresses of daily life.
In Jukpari, Subi-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, you can see about 30 hectares of pure white nature. This forest started with 30 cm tall trees in 1993 and has naturally grown for nearly 30 years to form the dense forest it is today. It has remained untouched by human hands, preserving its natural state most perfectly.
The birch forest allows visitors to enjoy nature without difficulty even if they have physical limitations, thanks to the operation of eco-friendly electric vehicles, and it is also ideal as a hiking course. Stretching out the body that had been curled up during the cold winter and stepping toward the summit one step at a time, you will soon face a landscape touching the high sky.
Enjoying the view from the summit and taking photos with the white bark contrasting against the green leaves will let you finish your trip with a wonderful life shot.
▲Changes in Yeongyang Birch Forest that make you want to stay and return
The cornerstone of Yeongyang-gun's tourism business, known as the mecca of ecotourism, is the construction of complex infrastructure through the creation of an eco-village covering 30,000㎡ and costing 12.6 billion KRW, including lodging buildings, multipurpose facilities, and parks around the birch forest area.
In addition, 5 billion KRW will be invested in the birch forest entrance road to design and expand infrastructure equipped with convenience facilities for a mountain village office, wood stay, and forest camping site.
Furthermore, by improving the entrance road to the birch forest, the convenience of tourists will be enhanced, and smooth connections with surrounding resources will be facilitated, establishing it as a representative tourist destination in Korea.
County Governor O Do-chang said, "We plan to continue improving facilities and promoting the Yeongyang Birch Forest so that it can become a beloved healing spot throughout all four seasons," adding, "In 2025, amid significant changes in Yeongyang-gun tourism, we hope visitors fully enjoy the fresh air that comes through the white birch forest."
