Discussion on Early Normalization Measures for Muan International Airport
and Proposals to the Government
The Muan International Airport Revitalization Promotion Committee (Chairman Park Ilsang) held a meeting on the 13th to discuss the long-term closure of Muan International Airport following the December 29 Jeju Air passenger plane accident.

According to the county on the 14th, the meeting, presided over by Chairman Park Ilsang, was attended by County Governor Kim San, Muan County Council Chairman Lee Hosung, county council members, the Muan International Airport director, revitalization committee members who are also heads of various social organizations, and a total of 30 related officials.
During the meeting, participants shared the current status of Muan International Airport and discussed necessary measures for the normal operation of passenger flights, as well as exchanged opinions on matters to be proposed to the government.
County Governor Kim San stated, "The movement to temporarily open Gwangju Airport for international flights seems excessive and is very concerning," and added, "At this time, it is desirable to normalize Muan International Airport as soon as possible in order to overcome the crisis facing the local travel industry and escape economic stagnation, and I ask all county residents to unite their efforts for this cause."
