First Certified in 2021, Maintained Compliance with Certification Standards After Renewal in 2024
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) announced on the 14th that it has maintained its certification through an environmental management system (ISO 14001) audit conducted by the Korea Productivity Center Certification Institute on the 20th and 21st of last month.
The environmental management system (ISO 14001) is an international standard activity that recognizes an organization’s operation to minimize the environmental impact of its products and services by setting environmental policies and objectives. Certification is granted through a comprehensive audit of understanding the organization’s context, leadership and commitment, risk and opportunity management, achievement of environmental objectives, and internal and external communication.
BMC first obtained certification in 2021 and renewed it in 2024. Through the recent audit, BMC was recognized for compliance and conformity with certification standards since the renewal, thereby maintaining its environmental management system (ISO 14001) certification.
Shin Chang-ho, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, “Our corporation will take the lead in practicing ESG management based on eco-friendly management to contribute to building a sustainable society.”
