85,000 People Attend the 'Nonsan City Agro-Food Overseas Expo'
Strawberry Tasting Event and Korean Food Experience Zone Receive Enthusiastic Response
Nonsan City and Jakarta Strengthen Agricultural and Food Exchange
Nonsan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 14th that 85,000 people visited the first day of the '2025 Nonsan City Agro-Food Overseas Expo', which was co-hosted with Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 13th, resulting in the sale of 3 tons of strawberries.
This expo is being held at Kota Kasablanka in Jakarta until the 16th to promote agricultural and food exchanges between Korea and Indonesia.
The expo featured a variety of experience programs that offered glimpses into Korean and Indonesian cultures, including Hanbok and Kebaya experiences.
In particular, the Nonsan strawberry tasting event and the Korean food experience zone received an enthusiastic response from visitors.
Mayor Baek Seonghyeon said, "I sincerely thank the governor, the mayor, and all officials for making this event a success," adding, "I am proud and overwhelmed that the sweet scent of Nonsan strawberries is spreading throughout Jakarta, the center of trade and culture."
He continued, "I hope this expo will be a time for tourists visiting Jakarta, Jakarta citizens, and our Korean compatriots to fall in love with Nonsan strawberries and other excellent agricultural products from Nonsan. Nonsan City will continue to boldly leap forward for the world's first Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo in 2027."
Jakarta Mayor Munjirin said, "I am pleased that we have created an opportunity to introduce the sweet and fresh Nonsan strawberries to Jakarta citizens and offer them a special memory," adding, "As a global city, I hope Nonsan City and Jakarta will continue to cooperate and build a strong partnership in the future."
