Jeollanam-do appointed Choi Gwangsik (58), former Director of the Land and Environment Audit Bureau at the Board of Audit and Inspection, as the new open recruitment auditor on the 14th.
Auditor Choi graduated from Chonnam National University with a degree in civil engineering. Since joining the Board of Audit and Inspection in December 1998, he has held key positions in the Special Investigation Bureau, Local Administration Audit Bureau, and Land and Maritime Audit Bureau.
He is especially recognized for his outstanding audit capabilities in the fields of national infrastructure and large-scale government projects.
The term of office is two years and can be extended up to five years depending on job performance.
Auditor Choi stated, "I will do my best to establish 'Integrity Jeonnam' that earns the trust of residents by enhancing the efficiency and transparency of audits."
Meanwhile, prior to Auditor Choi's appointment, Jeollanam-do announced the recruitment and accepted applications earlier this year following the expiration of the previous auditor's term. The selection committee, composed of external experts, determined the candidate for appointment through document screening and interviews.
