Completion of the Complex Cultural and Sports Center and More

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 14th that it will invest a total project cost of 43.7 billion KRW by 2028 to implement the 'Rural Agreement Target and Linked Projects.'

This initiative includes 14 target projects under the Rural Agreement and 30 related linked projects currently underway.

First, in April, the Seongnae-myeon Complex Cultural and Sports Center will be completed. The Seongnae-myeon Complex Cultural and Sports Center will provide various services such as a multi-purpose gymnasium, a cafe, a laundromat, a shared kitchen, and club rooms.

Additionally, next spring, the 'Resident Happiness Center,' which combines resident welfare facilities and township office functions, is scheduled to open in Sillim-myeon. With improved central functions and accessibility in the hub area, residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of various cultural, welfare, and administrative facilities in one space.

Furthermore, by 2028, the county plans to promote a variety of projects, including the Gochang-eup Rural Center Revitalization Project (local food direct market and resident support facilities), the Daesan-myeon Rural Center Revitalization Project (complex cultural facilities), the Buan-myeon Basic Living Base Project (Resident Happiness Center), and the Seongsong-myeon Rural Space Improvement Project (smart farm training center and resident convenience facilities).

County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "This is not just about constructing simple facilities, but about restructuring rural spaces that have suffered from indiscriminate development and securing integration and connectivity between regions within the county, considering the risk of regional extinction." He added, "Through the transformation and growth of rural spaces, we will open a bright and hopeful future."
