Taean County in Chungnam, which has recorded the highest number of participants in the province's 'Senior Job Program' for five consecutive years, has officially launched this year's project.

According to Taean County on the 13th, a kickoff ceremony for the '2025 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project' was held at each town office and the Taean Senior Club, with all participants in the senior job program in attendance, which also included safety education.

The Senior Job Program provides customized jobs for seniors who wish to work, offering opportunities for income generation and social participation. Depending on the type of project, it targets those aged 60 or older who are eligible for the program and seniors aged 65 or older (including basic pension recipients).

This year, a record number of 5,467 seniors will participate, an increase of 350 compared to last year's 5,117. The budget for the Senior Job Program has also increased by over 1.8 billion KRW, from 20,069,880,000 KRW last year to 21,915,000,000 KRW this year.

This year's participants will be assigned to tasks such as senior center assistants, school traffic support, Nono Care, and support for childcare facilities at town offices (1,940 people), senior associations (997 people), Taean Senior Club (1,930 people), Taean Senior Welfare Center (150 people), Baekhwa Senior Welfare Center (150 people), and Anmyeondo Senior Welfare Center (300 people).

County Governor Gasero said, "Through the Senior Job Program, which has the highest participation in Chungnam for five consecutive years, we will bring vitality to the local senior community," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create customized senior jobs so that our seniors can enjoy a stable life in their later years."
