8th Sustainable Development Council Committee Appointment Ceremony Held
On the 13th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the 8th Committee Appointment Ceremony of the Changwon Sustainable Development Council at the City Hall Citizen Hall.

At the event, appointment letters were awarded to 107 newly appointed members of the 8th committee, and commendations were given to 6 members who contributed to Changwon's sustainable development in 2024.
The 8th council is composed of 107 members selected from various fields including the city council, academia, civic groups, related organizations, and administration. Over two years, they will be divided into six subcommittees to engage in various activities such as responding to the climate crisis and preserving biodiversity to promote sustainable development practices in daily life.
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon, said, “I hope you will fulfill your roles and responsibilities as catalysts who induce practice and dissemination in various fields and as leaders who will lead the future of Changwon,” adding, “I ask for your active interest and participation to make Changwon a central city in Northeast Asia and a sustainable city.”
Meanwhile, since its inception in 2010 with the 1st committee, the Changwon Sustainable Development Council has continued diverse activities such as operating the Sustainable Development Citizen University, collaborating on the Resource Circulation Gil Market Network project, and the Urban Temperature Reduction Project.
