Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sang-geun) received a plaque of appreciation for social contribution from Changwon City at the ‘Social Contribution Neighbor Helping Meritorious Person Plaque Award Ceremony’ held at the Changwon Special City Hall Citizen Hall on the 12th.
This plaque award recognized BPA’s continuous social contribution efforts targeting the Busan New Port area near Changwon, Gyeongnam, and was awarded upon recommendation from Jinhae-gu, Changwon City.
In 2024, BPA carried out social contribution activities worth approximately 106.5 million KRW throughout the Changwon area, leading efforts for community coexistence and realization of social values. Major activities included ▲food support through operating the Changwon Jinhae-gu Sharing Refrigerator BPA Hope Pantry ▲support for daily necessities for low-income groups ▲support for heating and cooling costs for energy-vulnerable groups ▲income compensation projects for fishermen near the Busan New Port development area.
In particular, BPA utilized welfare funds from the solar power generation project in the Busan New Port hinterland complex to support energy-vulnerable groups, supported fishery product market development and consumption promotion projects through the Rural-Urban Win-Win Cooperation Fund, and conducted scholarship projects for fishermen’s children, carrying out customized social contribution activities for the sustainable development of the local community.
President Song Sang-geun of BPA stated, “It is an honor to receive the plaque of appreciation from Changwon City, and we will continue to expand ESG management and various social contribution activities that coexist with the local community.”
