Jimenez, First College Athlete to Achieve '59 Strokes'

On the 12th (local time), Golfweek USA reported that Sergio Jimenez, a sophomore on the University of Utah golf team, recently recorded a 13-under-par 59 at the Kukui'ula Golf Course (par 72) in Hawaii. The publication stated that Jimenez is the first player in American college golf to shoot a score below 60. So far, there have been 20 rounds of 60 or lower, with 19 by male players and one by a female player.

However, since Jimenez shot the 59 during a practice round, it is unclear whether the score will be officially recognized. Jimenez is ranked 22nd in American college golf. He will compete in the Burns University Match at the Ocean Course in Hokuala, Hawaii, on the 14th.
