Jeongeup City to Provide Transportation Support for Vulnerable Groups... Up to 150,000 Won

Support Available Only When "Emergency" is Indicated on Records

Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province is implementing a support program for emergency patient transportation costs.

According to the city on the 13th, this project was launched to alleviate medical disparities caused by the imbalance of emergency medical institutions, improve access to emergency care for vulnerable groups, and reduce the burden of medical expenses.

Emergency patients transferred from local medical institutions to hospitals in other regions can receive support of up to 150,000 KRW.

The program covers the transportation expenses of emergency patients using emergency vehicles (ambulances from medical institutions or private transport companies), and support will be provided until the allocated budget is exhausted.

Eligible recipients are those who, as of the date of transfer, are registered residents of Jeongeup City and fall under one of the following categories: children and adolescents (ages 0-18), recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security Program, low-income groups, or seniors (65 years and older). Only cases marked as "emergency" in the ambulance dispatch and treatment records are eligible for support.

Applications can be submitted to the city health center by the patient, guardian, or representative within one year from the date of transfer, along with the application form and documents proving eligibility.

A city official stated, "By supporting transportation costs for emergency patients in vulnerable groups, we expect to improve access to emergency medical services."
