World No.1 Johnson Ends Partnership with TaylorMade Dustin Johnson

On the 11th (local time), the American Golf Channel reported that Johnson and TaylorMade did not renew their contract at the end of last year. Although there was no official announcement, the outlet confirmed this through multiple sources. Johnson has not signed with a new equipment company, becoming a so-called 'equipment free agent.'

Johnson has used TaylorMade clubs since turning professional in 2007. It is rare among male professional golfers to maintain such a long relationship with one brand from their pro debut. All 24 of his PGA Tour wins, including two major championships?the 2016 US Open and the 2020 Masters?were achieved using TaylorMade clubs. Even after moving to LIV Golf, he continued to use TaylorMade clubs and won three times. He also wore a hat featuring the TaylorMade logo.

Although Johnson ended his equipment contract with TaylorMade, he still used a TaylorMade driver at the LIV Golf season opener in Riyadh, which concluded on the 9th. It is unknown how the rest of his clubs were composed. Currently, TaylorMade is used by 'Golf Emperor' Tiger Woods (USA), world number three Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), and world number one female golfer Nelly Korda (USA).
