Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 12th that Assistant Professor Yoon Taejun from the Department of Photography and Imaging has been selected as one of the third cohort artists for the "H Art Lab" creative space support program organized by the Hoban Cultural Foundation.

H Art Lab is a program that provides creative spaces and networking opportunities to support artists and theorists so they can focus on their creative activities in a stable environment.

The Hoban Cultural Foundation accepted online applications for a month last September, and after document review and interviews, finally selected five artists. For this third cohort, Professor Yoon Taejun was selected along with artists Kang Sangwoo, Park Soyoung, Lee Jiwoong, and Cho Eunsol. Two theorists who will collaborate with the artists will be chosen later through recommendations from the art community.

Professor Yoon has been exploring the boundaries between reality and virtuality based on photography, continuously researching image production methods and visual experiences in the digital age. In particular, he combines photography, video, and installation work to experiment with the changing visuality and materiality of data in contemporary society.

The third cohort artists of H Art Lab will be provided with individual creative spaces within H Art Lab located in Gwangju, and will receive support for exhibitions, research projects, and artist-theorist matching programs.

A representative from the Hoban Cultural Foundation stated, "Since the third cohort of H Art Lab consists of artists from various regions and genres, we expect a diversity in the creative outcomes. We will continue to support creative activities for the development of culture and arts in Korea."
