Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Cho Ikmun) announced on the 12th that it recently held an on-site career experience event for high school students aspiring to work in urban railway operation and control at its headquarters in Mareuk-dong, Seo-gu, and at the Yongsan Vehicle Depot in Dong-gu.

About 20 students from Seoul Yongsan Railroad High School, the first specialized railroad high school in Korea, participated in the event. They were introduced to various practical skills such as touring the inspection depot, experiencing safety equipment, and observing train control at the integrated control center.

In particular, by experiencing manual operation of electric trains and using various equipment actually used in the field, students not only developed basic job skills for their future careers but also had the opportunity to resolve job-related questions through active Q&A sessions with employees from each department, receiving an enthusiastic response.

The corporation expects that this experience will help young people, who are the future leaders, plan their careers and promote a proper understanding of subways, thereby contributing to the spread of a safe urban railway culture.

A corporation official said, "We hope that the students who participated in this event will grow into more competitive talents through real field experience," and added, "We will continue to do our best to promote various programs for future generations."
