'Pukyong Dream Guide Camp' Held on the 12th
National Pukyong University (President Bae Sang-hoon) held the 'Pukyong Dream Guide Camp' for new students of the Division of Liberal Studies on the 12th.
National Pukyong University established the Division of Liberal Studies for the first time this year and selected new students. To help them adapt to university life, the university held this event following the first orientation held last month.
The Division of Liberal Studies is a department where freshmen enter without a major and can choose their major starting from the second year. This year, National Pukyong University selected about 900 students, accounting for 30% of all freshmen, for the Division of Liberal Studies.
About 400 new students of the Division of Liberal Studies participated in the event, which included an introduction to the division, career and employment programs, international exchange programs, double major program guidance, and introductions to the faculty and mentors in charge.
Following this, recreational activities to foster intimacy among new students, explanations of academic systems, and course registration guidance were conducted.
To support the Division of Liberal Studies, National Pukyong University established a dedicated organization (Liberal Studies Guide Center), appointed heads of the Division of Liberal Studies for each college, and newly hired five academic guide professors who are responsible for managing and advising students in the division.
The university also operates a mentoring system with major guide professors composed of existing major professors and a major exploration mentor group consisting of senior students.
